HISTORY

 

The Geoff Miller story began in 1962 when a young Melbourne gentleman gave his name to a company with the intention of providing custom packaging solutions and Geoff Miller Packaging was born.

 

A year later as the company evolved the name changed and Geoff Miller Pty Ltd came in to being and the company has continued to evolve.

 

In its infancy Geoff Miller Pty Ltd focussed on its expertise of assembling and packaging unique goods for a diverse range of companies. Although it is far removed from the current operations of the company it helped secure long lasting relationships, many of which remain today.

 

In the early 1970’s a relationship was formed with New Zealand Pasture Implements. This close working relationship led us into the field of welding flexible plastic sheeting. New Zealand Pasture Implements later requested that we supply large covers in 150 micron black polyethylene for the purpose of vacuum packaging silage. This action introduced Geoff Miller Pty Ltd into the Agricultural and Rural scene.

 

Over the years we have attended many Field Days and Country Shows to demonstrate a vast array of usages for plastic and plastic films. Some of our more popular displays have been.

 

· Active Hydraflume displays showing cost effective method of moving high volumes of water and for irrigation.

· Flexible cost effective DIY Dam Liners

Innovations in Silage covering and storage

 

Over the course of the past 40+ years Geoff Miller Pty Ltd have been pioneers in the Nursery, Agricultural, Horticultural and Rural sectors. Some of the critical areas we have been able to assist in developing are.

 

· Controlled atmosphere storage of apples and other fruit through the fabrication and installation of units throughout Victoria, Tasmania, Western Australia and also exporting of complete units to South Africa.

· Introduction of Hydraflume to all states of Australia and into the Middle East

· Pioneers in the marketing of woven polyethylene stack covers.

· Fabrication and installation of the first locally extruded Greenhouse films, now widely used in the vegetable and flower growing industries.

Development of ancillary products to assist in the above such as Tie-Down Clips for polyethylene sheeting and webbing overstrapping for stack covers.

 

Geoff Miller Pty Ltd has become one of the biggest suppliers of Silage Covers in Australia. We have continually altered our product range to better assist and reflect the ever changing demands of our customers. In recent times we have further penetrated the domestic market with our range of made to fit shade sails and pool covers.
